The last two months have developed into some exciting new opportunities for me and my artistic journey.
In the middle of October, I became a resident artist at the Forest and Ocean Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. As you may know, the city of Laguna Beach is among the most preeminent art communities in the United States. I feel so fortunate to be with so many incredible fellow artists displaying such a wide range of artistic disciplines.
Earlier this month, after my portfolio went through their approval process, I joined the Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA). The Association was founded in 1925 to provide the Los Angeles community with the opportunity to view fine art as well as establish a collection of European and American art "for the people of Los Angeles." Today, with its Gallery 8-2-5, it serves the community and emerging artists with a host of public exhibitions, lectures, and programs. It introduces the people of Los Angeles to new and diverse emerging art.
Yesterday, I learned my painting Nude Next to Bed was selected, among others, into the online juried art show FULL BODIED on LAAA's website: https://www.laaa.org/full-bodied
And I continue to be a resident artist in Long Beach at the Hellada Art Center and will have my second solo show there in July 2022. More about that as we get closer to the date.
Thank you all for your continued well wishes, support, and encouragement. Laurence.
